William Monkhouse and Thomas Robson (otherwise Robinson) both weavers of Penrith guilty of having forged a receipt in the name of John Nicholson of Carlisle for £6. 2. 8d on 1^st September 1753.

According to Quarter Sessions papers both were hanged having been kept in prison for seven weeks in the period 13^th July to 5^th October. Earliest execution date would be Saturday 24 August (though a more likely one would be a week or a fortnight later).
