Benjamin Downing found guilty on an indictment for a burglary in the dwelling house of Anthony Osbaston the elder in the parish of Much Waltham (otherwise Great Waltham) on 30th November 1758: stealing therefrom 2 gold mourning rings (valued at 20/-), another gold ring (valued at 10/-), 2 silver teaspoons (valued at 5/-), a bag (valued at 1d), 114 gold guineas, 12 silver crown pieces and 6/- in money numbered, the property of Andrew Osbaston the elder; and a bag (valued at 1d), 1 gold Portuguese coin (valued at 36/-) and 5/- in money numbered, the property of Andrew Osbaston the younger.
