John Thomas (otherwise John Evans) (aged 45) (of the parish of Eglwysilan) on 15 February 1787 burglariously entered the dwelling house of Thomas Rees of Margam and stole 1 cloth coat (value 1/-); 1 cloth waistcoat (value 5d); 1 flannel waistband (value 3d); a pair of cloth breeches (value 6d); a pair of leather breeches (value 6d); 2 linen gowns (value 1/-); a blue cloak (value 6d); 4 sheets (value 1/-) a tablecloth (value 6d); 6 napkins (value 6d); an apron (value 6d); a pair of shoes (value 3d); a handkerchief (value 6d) and 18 yards of flannel (value 2/-) (WALES 4/626/3). Hereford Journal Thursday 1 June records "John Thomas executed on Wednesday fortnight at Stallingdown near Cowbridge" (Dairy of William Thomas records his execution on Wednesday, 10 May)
