John Smith, aged 30, found guilty of a burglary in the dwelling house of Thomas Gulston in the parish of Kings Langley on 6th January 1784: stealing 2 red cloth coats (valued at 10/-), 2 loaves (valued at 1/-), 7 pounds of cheese (valued at 1/-), 2 pieces of linen cloth measuring 12 yards (valued at 30/-), a check linen apron (valued at 6d), a child’s linen pack (valued at 5/-), a sack (valued at 3d), a linen table cloth (valued at 6d) and 2 silver tea spoons (valued at 2/-). All four were dieted to Thursday 18 March
