Summer 1756

John Greenwood guilty of stealing a piece of woollen cloth called drapery baize (valued at 20/-) from the warehouse of Richard Scholes in the parish of Rochdale on 10^th March 1758. He was also charge with theft from two other warehouses in Rochdale - that of John Walmsley on 10^th March from which he stole 160 pounds of Butter (valued at 40/-) and 4 firkins of butter (valued at 40/-); and that of Nicholas Cunliffe on 18^th March from which he stole drapery baize (valued at 20/-) also. Executed August/September.
