Mary Davy for the murder of Mary Kemp, her mistress and Elizabeth Verney, a nurse. No paper records the execution and the reference in Lincoln Date Book records a “executed for murder” The murder of a superior, in this instance her mistress, counted as Petit Treason which required a burning. It is possible she was found guilty of the nurse’s murder not that of her mistress. At this remove of time it is impossible to say if she burned or not.
