William Smith, of Great Broughton, guilty of the murder of Thomas Harper, William Harper (his son) and Ann Harper (his daughter or daughter-in-law) in the parish of Ingleby Greenhow on 20th April 1753. They died after eating a cake in which arsenic had been mixed.
