Saturday, 15 March 1783(Cambridge Chronicle) George Mean of Ickleton guilty of the murder George Cooper, farmer, striking him and fracturing his skull in his stable in the parish of Duxford on 8th October 1781. He had been committed to gaol on a charge of highway robbery (Cambridge Chronicle Sat 21st December 1783). A George Mean had been charged with the same burglary as George Reynolds (see above) but had been admitted as King’s evidence (possibly the same man??).
