Sidney Harry Fox murdered his mother Rosaline Fox 63 in room 66 of the Metropole Hotel in Margate on 23 October 1929. He had strangled her.
He faked a fire in the hotel room they were staying in so he could claim on her life insurance which had 20 minutes left before it expired. They later exhumed Rosaline Fox's body and determined that she died before the fire was started.
