Richard Pritchard David of the parish of Clynnog and John Rowland of the parish of Llanllyfni at 9.00 in the morning of 7 February 1758 broke into the house of Richard Owen in the parish of Llanbeblig and stole 18 foggets of Barley, value £18 (WALES 4/273/1). A total of 23 men were indicted for this of which only these two were found guilty and sentenced to hang. Among the Quarter Sessions records the gaoler in his petition for reimbursement of expenses presented 6 October 1758 claimed to have maintained these two until the beginning of April only: however he claimed to have held JR since 25 February and RPD since the end of January. On the assumption that the Session was held in the second half of March an April execution date is likely.
C&DH reports this as "Two men for mutiny, executed by William Goch of Llandegai, May 1758."
