Saturday, 22 March 1783 (Reading Mercury) Daniel Gibbs and William Wayne indicted for a burglary in the dwelling house of William Prior in the parish of Uffington on 29th January 1783: stealing therefrom 2 linen shirts (valued at 8/-), 24 gold guineas, 2 silver half crown pieces and 7/6 in money numbered.
