John Brady (or Ready), and John Burns guilty of the highway robbery of Edward Burrell in the parish of Ashton on 15th February 1800: robbing him of a leather portmanteau (valued at 3/-) and 15 leather bags (valued at 15/-) (a mail robbery). After execution hey were hanged in chains at Ashton.
