Harry Walters was convicted of the murder of his girlfriend Sarah Ann McConnell 43 and sentenced to death.
He battered her to death at 12 Court, 7 House, Allen Street, Sheffield on 23 December 1905.
She was found dead on the hearthrug with injuries inflicted by a broom.
On the morning of the murder he was heard to say that he would kill her if she did not find him money.
