Convicted of the murder of Esther Allchin (51), a widow with whom he lived. The couple quarrelled in a public house at Plaxtol, near Sevenoaks, Kent, because she had been drinking with another man. On leaving the premises, he knocked her down and kicked her about the head and body while wearing a pair of heavy boots. The body was found hidden in a shed the following day. Hanged by James Billington.
